    STEVE’S TOP 20 ALBUMS OF 2012

    06. Twin Shadow - Confess (4AD) - Song: Five Seconds

George Lewis Jr. is back (or is it back from the 80s)? Building on his already established reputation for a great mix of synths and new wave leanings, Confess is a great release. After a motorcycle accident, Lewis began work on this follow-up to Forget. One of the few artists that can bridge classic R&B with the Human League. I also kept thinking of how this works as a soundtrack for a John Hughes movie at times too. At the centre is the always smooth croon of Mr. Lewis at times channelling Bowie and Bryan Ferry for me.

  2. Breakfast Club dance scene vs. Twin Shadow "Five Seconds" →

This is hilarious how well this works together (even down to the Molly Ringwald dance and the Emilio Estevez air guitar part, spooky). Something cool for us kids of the 80s. Be sure to turn off the Breakfast Club audio on the left side though. Btw the Twin Shadow album is guaranteed to be in my top 10 this year.
