Hey, girl…
Really digging this lady’s album Devotion lately. Not my usual thing, but damn. Such a great voice. I have a special place in my heart for Brit singers who do R&B really well. If you love Massive Attack, Annie Lennox, Sade or that new Rhye album this is something to check.
Check out this grooveshark Jessie Ware playlist for a taste.
LLI: Will you introduce yourself?
YS: My name is Yuko Shimizu. I am an illustrator in New York City. I have been illustrating full time for about ten years now. I have also been teaching illustration at the School of Visual Arts, where I got my MFA in the Illustration as Visual Essay program in 2003. I am originally from Tokyo, Japan. I moved to New York in 1999, after quitting my job doing PR for a large corporation there for more than ten years.
LLI: What inspired the move from Tokyo to New York? How did you move from inspiration to action?
Love her work!
